Fault Causes and Elimination Measures for Low-Speed Creeping of Hydraulic Cylinders in Construction Machinery

In the actual operation of construction machinery, low-speed creeping (intermittent movement and uneven speed) of the hydraulic cylinder is a common fault that seriously affects the control accuracy and operational efficiency of the equipment. However, if other parts of the system have problems, creeping may still occur. The following analysis is conducted from two aspects: external factors and internal factors of the cylinder.

I. External Factors of the Cylinder

1. Insufficient rigidity of the actuating mechanism, forming an elastic system

When the actuating mechanism (such as boom, arm, etc.) has poor rigidity, elastic deformation occurs under load. The accumulated energy is suddenly released during movement, causing speed fluctuations. Elimination measure: Appropriately increase the structural rigidity of related components to reduce elastic deformation.

2. Low installation accuracy of the cylinder

Installation position deviation causes the piston rod and guide sleeve to be misaligned, generating additional radial force and increasing motion resistance. Elimination measure: Strictly follow process requirements for assembly and ensure the accuracy of the mounting reference plane. YOZECE hydraulic cylinders adopt a variety of standard mounting methods (foot, flange, trunnion, etc.), facilitating high-precision positioning and installation in construction machinery.

II. Internal Factors of the Cylinder

1. Air mixed into the cylinder

Air mixed in the working medium makes it elastic, causing delayed or jerky movements. Elimination measure: Fully bleed the air, check whether the pump suction pipe diameter is too small and whether the suction pipe joint seals are intact to prevent pump suction of air.

2. Excessive sealing friction

Over-tight seals or size deviations cause a large difference between starting force and running force. For example, YOZECE hydraulic cylinders use imported Taiwan Dingji or Japanese seals, combined with strict H8/f8 fit tolerances, to control friction stability from the design stage. Elimination measure: Control the machining dimensions of seals according to specifications; for V-ring seals, adjust the sealing friction to an appropriate level.

3. Severe wear, scoring, or seizing on the sliding surfaces of the cylinder
